715
E. High
This
structure is built on a 2/3rds plan with 713 E. High as a later addition.
The exact builder and date are unknown, however, the Flemish bond
brickwork dates the structure to the 1840’s.
In 1888, the home was divided from 713 E. High.
The term “Siamese Twins” probably originates from this date.
On the south the entrance is the westernmost bay.
On the east the ground drops off to expose the basement which has a
walkout entrance at the northeast corner. This
and the north façade are done in common bond.
Two rooms deep, the east façade has 2 chimneys with an ornately
corbelled cap. There is a frame,
partially enclosed addition at the first level on the north.
The structure faces south onto High Street and actually intrudes into the
original alley space to the east. 713
High Street abuts the structure to the west.
There are no outbuildings.
