205 - 207 Third St.
This brick duplex
was built in 1915 by Rudolph Toennes. It
is vernacular design with
Missouri German and Queen Anne affinities.
The northeast and southeast corners have one-story flat roofed porches
formed by molded concrete blocks and a wide frame entablature. To the rear is a one-story hip roofed ell with molded
concrete block porches on the southwest and northwest.
The Toennes family owned this rental property until 1979.
An alley to the south gives access to a pent roofed shed which has a concrete foundation and asbestos siding.
