This brick and frame dwelling has been called one of the oldest houses in town.  A will of an early owner, John W. Keiser, relates that the residence was in existence in 1849.  While residing in the house, John Keiser was a captain in the Boonville Home Guards. The structure is brick on the first story and frame above, with brick end chimneys.  On the southeast is a one-story porch supported on square wood columns.  There is a central door at the second story level leading to this porch.  On the southwest corner is a one-story flat roofed brick ell which probably dates after 1910.  There is a two-story brick and frame ell to the northwest and a two-story frame porch on the northeast.  To the west is a raised frame porch and entrance to 3 apartments.

The structure was converted from a single family dwelling into apartments about 1941. There are no outbuildings.
