323 E. High Street
This two and one-half
story residence was built in 1915 in the Prairie Style common to rural areas in
that time. It is a brick structure with wide overhanging eaves and
brackets. There is a
bay window on the east as well as an end chimney.
On the west is an end chimney and a large window with a stained glass
transom. Jacob Gmelich, jeweler in the area, was having this house built when he died in 1914.
