501 Fourth Street

This structure was built for Eugene A. Windsor, a realtor who owned and operated Chouteau Springs Resort, 6 miles southwest of Boonville.  Typical of the style, this structure features a hip dormer to each facade, a raised basement, and a one-story porch on the east facade.  A one-story porch on the east has a brick balustrade and square brick columns of pink concrete.  The porch on the west serves both the first story and basement entrances.  A second story porch has been altered and is now a screened-in porch with a hip roof.  A semi-circular drive from Chestnut gives access to the garage, which sits at the northwest corner of the lot.  From interviews with past owners, the residence has been used by the Lutheran Church as a Sunday School, it has had apartments, and was once a funeral home.
