This Mid 1800’s building that is vernacular design was built for commercial use. The primary façade has been altered do to the application of vertical siding and scallop trim board. On the second story there is one large window with awning and a sign. On the 1st floor is a hipped wood canopy and wood shingle surface treatment. This building was first used as a dry goods store in 1885. In 1982 the building was damaged by a fire, but quickly recovered in 1983. Now The Place occupies the building, mostly known for the first bar/restaurant to serve alcoholic beverages on Sunday’s.
