PURPOSE: To assist in the planning and co-ordination of services for the developmentally
disabled in a ten county area, to monitor existing services and strive to assure
quality service delivery. To provide "grass roots" data to the officially designated
State Advisory Council for inclusion in the State Plan for the delivery of services to the developmentally disabled.
Project LINCS serves rural handicapped and high risk children and their families.
SERVICES RENDERED: Provide information of programs available,
referral to proper resources, assist in development of community resources,
act as an advocate. Project LINCS analysis of persons and their
community structure, arranging and negotiating with service providers.
PERSONS SERVED: Must be developmentally disabled and/or mentally retarded.
The disability must originate before age 18 and constitute a substantial handicap.
AREA SERVED: Benton, Boone, Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Randolph, Moniteau, Morgan, Pettis, Howard, and Saline counties.
FEES: None.
HOURS: 8 A.M. - 5 P.M., Monday - Friday.
