PURPOSE: To provide a 24 hour toll-free hotline for reporting a child abuse and/or neglect;
identification, protection, and treatment of the abused and/or neglected child and his family.
SERVICES RENDERED: The Division of Family Services is mandated by law in the State of Missouri to
investigate reports of abuse or neglect, and provide services if needed with the protection of the child as the primary goal.
Family and health counseling, family planning, day care and foster care
placements are a few of the services that may be offered.
PERSONS SERVED: Any child under 18 years of age may be reported as abused
and/or neglected. Services can be offered to one or all of the members of the family residing in the household.
AREA SERVED: Statewide. The abused/neglected child must be in the State of Missouri
at the time the report is taken. There are Division of Family Services offices in each county of Missouri.
FEES: None.
HOURS: The Hotline is operative 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
