PURPOSE: The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.

SERVICES RENDERED: Public education, patient services and rehabilitation, transportation reimbursement, reimbursement on pain relieving drugs, durable medical equipment.

PERSONS SERVED: Cancer patients and their families and the general public.

AREA SERVED: Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Pettis, Saline, and Randolph counties.
