Frederick T. Kemper, founder of Boonville Military school.

A bust and pedestal of Kemper are planned to be added to Morgan Street Park in Boonville. The private fundraising campaign has been completed and plans are to seek a partial match from the City of Boonville in the spring of 2006. Currently a statue honoring Hannah Cole is at the park, a bust/pedestal honoring Walter Williams, first dean and founder of the M. U. School of Journalism, who was born in Boonville and at age 21 was editor of the Boonville Advertiser, Missouri artist George Caleb Bingham, and J. Milton Turner, nationally recognized educator who founded the first African-American School in Boonville and several African American schools throughout the state and served as minister to Liberia.

No dedication date has been set for the Kemper bust. Donations are being accepted.
